Met Office predicts hot, humid weather for country this week

The weather department on Monday said that large parts of the country would remain in the grip of a heatwave this week, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
On the other hand, temperatures are on the rise in most parts of the country, especially in the south and these were expected to go up further, while no relief was in sight in the form of rains in the next few days except in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, said the department.
It further forecast that parts of south Punjab would experience heatwave for the next few days, while it predicted similar conditions for the upper parts of Sindh.
Karachiites experience hot, humid conditions
The weather in Karachi is again hot and humid today as the temperature has already reached 35 degrees Celsius and is expected to go up to 37 degrees Celsius later in the day, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
According to the Met Office, the minimum temperature in the city was recorded at 27 degrees Celsius early in the morning.
It has further said that presently winds are blowing at a speed between 9 and 11 kilometers per hour, while the level of humidity in the air is 78 per cent.
The weather department has forecast that the moisture level in the air will remain high throughout the day due to which people will feel suffocation.
However, the department has said, the air quality in the port city is better as today it is on the 14th position on the list of the world’s most polluted cities, while it is the third most polluted city within the country.
