A man filed a petition in a consumer court in Lahore on Wednesday in which he claimed around Rs16 million in damages from the owner of a marriage hall for serving ‘qulfa’ ice cream of poor quality at a wedding ceremony, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Judge Muhammad Wasim Afzal summoned the owner of the Hamsafar Marriage Hall on November 15.
The consumer said in the petition that ‘substandard’ qulfa was served at both wedding and Walima ceremonies due to which nine children fell sick which brought embarrassment to him and his family.
The petitioner further said that the marriage hall owner charged Rs22,000 from him for serving what he claimed a ‘quality qulfa’ but served qulfa of inferior quality instead.
