Model villages’ designs for flood victims in final stages: NFRCC

The National Flood Response and Coordination Centre (NFRCC) Thursday said that efforts are in hand for finalization of model villages in worst flood-affected districts of Sindh and Balochistan, and for this, model designs of miscellaneous firms or institutions will be submitted for final approval as part of rehabilitation plan of flood-hit victims.

Damage Assessment by Joint Survey

As per the joint survey progress province-wise damage assessment is as under:

Balochistan: 390201 Houses survey, 124 people died, 133994 Houses fully damaged, 94742 Houses partially damaged, 1579.54 Acres Crops damaged and 189233 Livestock killed. 

Gilgit Baltistan: 8479 Houses svy, 23 People died, 667 Houses fully damaged, 1126 Houses partially damaged, 151596 Acres Crops damaged and 609 Livestock killed. 

Punjab: 19418 Houses svy, 7 people died, 2329 Houses fully damaged, 373 Houses partially damaged, 2208 Acres Crops damaged and 307 Livestock killed. 

KP: 33301 Houses svy, 85 people died, 13894 Houses fully damaged, 16985 Houses partially damaged, 10048.048 Acres Crops damaged and 23222 Livestock killed. 

Sindh: 14967 Houses svy, 26 people died, 9576 Houses fully damaged, 4130 Houses partially damaged, 10721.93 Acres Crops damaged and 3603 Livestock killed. 

Overall: 466366 Houses svy, 265 people died, 160460 Houses fully damaged, 117356 Houses partially damaged, 176153.518 Acres Crops damaged and 216974 Livestock killed. 

Relief Activities (Collection and Distribution)

So far 147 relief camps and 98 relief collection points in Sindh, South Punjab and Balochistan have been established across the country for flood affectees.

Uptill now 10327.5 Tons of food items alongwith 1857.9 Tons of sustenance items and 15839066 medicine items have been collected so far. Out of which, 10298.8 Tons of food 1852.7 Tons of sustenance items and 15808056 medicine items have been distributed uptill now. 

Medical Relief

More than 300 medical camps established so far in which more than 408063 patients have been treated all across the country and provided 3-5 days’ free medicine.

Aviation Activities

Due to improved situation no helicopter sortie was flown during last 24 hours.

So far 627 Army Aviation helicopters sorties have been flown to various areas for evacuation of stranded people. Moreover, uptill now 4659 stranded Individuals have been evacuated through helicopter sorties.

Pakistan Navy Relief and Rescue Efforts

Pakistan Navy established four flood relief centers and 18 Central Collection Points all across the country. 

These collection centers have distributed 2,177 Tons ration, 7,916 tents and 747,675 liter mineral water in various districts. 

In addition, 15 tent cities have also been established at Qambar Shehdad Kot, Dadu, Bhan Syedabad, Sukkar, Sanghar and Sujawal. 

Moreover, PN’s 23 Emergency Response teams (ERTs) deployed all over Pakistan have rescued 15582 stranded personnel. 

These ERTs are equipped with 54 motorized boats and two Hovercraft. Uptill now PN helicopters have carried 71 sorties, these helicopters rescued 481 stranded people and distributed 5,333 packets of ration. 

Eight Diving Teams of Pak Navy have also carried out 28 x Diving Operations in affected areas across the Pakistan. PN has also established 123 Medical Camps in which 136,908 patients have been treated till to date.

Pakistan Air Force Relief and Rescue Efforts

Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has provided 6,691 Tents, 866,626 Food packages, 4487.53 Tons of ration, 298,712 liter fresh water, for the flood affectees. 

Moreover, PAF has established 46 Medical Camps where 83,340 patients have been treated so far. 24 Tent cities accommodating 19,807 people, 54 flood relief centers and 03 central Aviation Hubs all across the country have also been established. PAF also carried out 268 sorties and evacuated 1,521 people from the flood affected areas.
