At least two people were killed and 12 others sustained injuries when another residential building collapsed in Karachi’s Lyari area on Sunday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The collapse of the two-storey residential building in Lyari was the second incident that occurred within days. Earlier a building caved in at Korangi's Allah Wala Town.

According to the TV channel, the building came down in Lyari's Koyla Godown area. Soon after the incident, rescue teams immediately reached the scene and shifted the bodies and injured people to a local hospital.

Rangers and police teams have cordoned off the area. Meanwhile, there are fears that more people are buried under the debris for which heavy machinery has been called to remove the debris.

Meanwhile, Sindh Governor Imran Ismail has taken notice of the incident and sought a report from the provincial chief secretary.

On September 10, a child was killed when a four-storey building collapsed in Karachi's Korangi Town. Eight people, including women and children were recovered from the rubble.

The incident occurred in Allah Wala Town where the building came crumbling down with a bang.
