The Punjab Transport Department has moved a summary allowing an increase of Rs10 in the fare of Orange Line Metro Train, reported City42 TV channel on Sunday.
The fare of the Orange Line Train which was earlier fixed at Rs40 will now surge to Rs50 after the approval of the Transport Department’s summary by the provincial cabinet.
Quoting sources, the TV channel reported that the step was taken on the recommendation of the lawmakers floated during the Punjab Assembly session.
Earlier, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar had approved fixing the train fare at Rs40.
The Orange Line Train is likely to hit the tracks late next month.
It may be mentioned here that the power tussle between LTC chairman, vice-chairman and CEO Lahore Transport Company has escalated and CEO Maryam Khawar has moved an application against the vice-chairman for harassment. As they say the grass is trampled in elephants fight, so is the case here as the company is suffering due to bigwigs' infighting.
