Describing the comments made by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Ali Amin Gandapur against journalists at a PTI rally in Islamabad on Sunday as ‘inappropriate’, former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan said on Thursday that the chief minister on that day said more than what he was supposed to say, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Talking to journalists at Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi, who protested against the chief minister’s remarks, the former prime minister said that Gandapur should not have said this.
“Journalists are performing their duties despite adverse circumstances,” Imran said, adding, “I have already said on several occasions that the work journalists are doing these days under so much pressure is a ‘Jihad’.”
He was of the view that there were good and bad people in every profession.
CM Gandapur at the rally had called female journalists ‘sell-outs’.
He was also quite critical of the role being played by the media in general.
