Supreme Judicial Council reviews proposed amendments for appointment of judges

The Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) of Pakistan met on Friday under the chair of Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Qazi Faiz Issa to review amendments in SJC for the appointment of judges. Reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Federal Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar could not attend the meeting while Justice Muneeb Akhtar walked out after the council members did not agree to his proposal to postpone the meeting.

According to an official declaration of the meeting, Supreme Judicial Council has reached consensus on some changes in the proposed draft of the amendments. The new draft will be presented to the members in the next meeting, which will be held on September 28 at 10 am.
