Veteran Pakistani actor Adnan Jaffar, who is known for some promising supporting roles on TV and film scene, has finally entered Hollywood with a big American series, Homeland.
The actor played Pakistani general Aziz who had an intense discussion with retired army officer Bunny Latif (Art Malik).
Jaffar is currently seen in drama serial ‘Daasi’ alongside Adeel Hussain and Mawra Hocane, and Ruswai that stars Mikaal Zulfiqar and Sana Javed.
In an interview, the actor said: “The Homeland people were looking for an English-speaking actor with a South Eastern face and since I have a presence on Netflix (thanks to a couple of films), their search led to me.”
The actor was then called to Casablanca, Morocco, where the shooting spell was scheduled and Adnan Jaffar has a lot to reflect in terms of the working environment he experienced with the Hollywood folks.
“All instructions were given to me in booklet form on arrival at Casablanca Airport and even minor things like a separate cell phone with numbers of the whole production team fed in with available balance were taken care of,” Adnan explained.
Homeland has been the target of controversy for potentially feeling anti-Muslim and Middle Eastern sentiment. The series was also criticized for portraying Pakistan inside its plot in a negative light.
