Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Thursday reduced fares by 10 per cent for domestic flights during the Eidul Fitr holidays, reported 24NewsHd TV channel.
The domestic passengers travelling on April 22 and April 23 could avail this 10 per cent concession.
The Eidul Fitr package was revealed after Aviation Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique gave specific instructions to the airline’s CEO.
Earlier, the federal government issued a notification for the Eid holidays. According to the notification, Pakistanis will observe a five-day holiday on the eve of the auspicious occasion of Eidul Fitr from April 21 to April 25.
Eidul Fitr is most likely to fall on April 22 (Saturday) as per scientific predictions. However, the Central Ruet-EHilal Committee will meet on the evening of April 20 (Ramazan 29) to collect the evidence of the Shawwal crescent sighting.
According to the scientific prediction, the new crescent will be born at 9:13 am on April 20 and its age will be less than 10 hours that day making it extremely unlikely that Eidul Fitr would fall on Friday, April 21, 2023.
Eid ul Fitr 2023 will probably be observed on April 22 following the completion of the holy month of Ramazan’s 30 days of fasting.
Pakistan is currently observing the month of Ramazan month which started concurrently in most parts of the world including Saudi Arabia and other Gulf States.
Saudi Arabia and other Gulf States may observe Eid on April 21 as there is a strong chance of sighting of Shawaal moon there on April 20.
