Tajik President Emomali Rahmon accorded red-carpet welcome at PM House

President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon Wednesday arrived at Islamabad for his official two-day visit to Pakistan and was welcomed by Federal Trade Minister Naveed Qamar while a 21-Gun-salute was also given, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The Tajik President was invited by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Later, Tajikistan’s President Emomali Rahmon was accorded a red-carpet welcome at the Prime Minister’s House.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif received the Tajik president on his arrival at the PM House.
A contingent of armed forces presented a salute to the visiting dignitary. President Rahmon reviewed the guard of honour, presented by a contingent of the three services.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Rahmon introduced their delegations to each other.
President Emomali Rahmon also planted a sapling in the lawns of the PM’s House.
Later, the two leaders along with their delegations proceeded for talks.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon held a one-on-one and discussed matters of bilateral interest.
In the meeting, the two sides discussed regional and international issues besides focusing on strengthening their ties in diverse fields.
Later, the two leaders led the delegation-level talks.
Earlier, Federal Minister for Commerce Syed Naveed Qamar received the Tajik president as he alighted from his special aircraft, at the Islamabad International Airport.
Cannons boomed for a 21-gun salute in honour of the visiting dignitary, besides a salute presented by the static guard. Two children clad in traditional Pakistani dresses presented bouquets to President Emomali Rahmon.
The delegations of Pakistan and Tajikistan will negotiate during the meeting and the president will observe the Guard of Honor at the Prime Minister’s residence.
The Cooperation in various fields and strengthening of bilateral relations between both countries will be discussed and several bilateral agreements and memorandums of understanding are expected to be signed at the PM house.
It was concluded that both are brotherly countries which are connected by long-sustaining historical, cultural and religious ties and the stances and viewpoints of both nations on various regional and international issues and problems are the same.
The cooperation in various fields and the growth of geo-economic partnership between both the countries will also be strengthened after the visit of the Tajik President to Pakistan.
A joint statement by both nations will be given at 7pm in the evening in a press conference after the contract signing ceremony. Afterwards, a dinner will be held in honour of the Tajik president and his delegation in which members of federal cabinet will also participate awhile observing a traditional show.
