PML-N Quaid and former three-time prime minister Nawaz Sharif has declared that he does not believe in revenge but those who conspired against his government must be taken to the task, otherwise “this game of ousting governments would continue in the country”, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Nawaz Sharif said this while addressing the eighth meeting of the Parliamentary Board of Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) which was held at Model Town in Lahore on Wednesday.

Shehbaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz, Hamza Shehbaz, Ishaq Dar, Ahsan Iqbal, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Rana Sanaullah, Saiful Mulook Khokhar, Mian Javed Latif, Malik Ahmad Khan, Parvez Rashid, Maryam Aurangzeb. Captain (r) Muhammad Safdar, Azma Bukhari, Rana Tanveer, Chaudhary Sher Ali, Abid Sher Ali and other leaders participated.

Interviews of PML-N candidates from Sahiwal Division were conducted in the meeting.

While addressing the meeting, Nawaz Sharif said that fake cases were framed to oust the PML-N government. “who were the people who did this and why, the public should know,” he asked.

He said that he was sentenced to 10 years in jail while Maryam Nawaz was awarded seven-year prison in false cases, a decision that became a joke around the world.

Nawaz Sharif said that the party leaders and workers were fully convinced of his innocence.

“I was punished but the real punishment was meted out to the people of Pakistan because inflation was very low during our time and today the prices are not under control. This is the punishment given to the people,” he added.

Nawaz Sharif said that he is not worried about revenge and he does not want to take it from anyone, but whoever is responsible should be held accountable, otherwise this game will continue in the country.

He said that what he is doing is not for himself, but he is doing it for the people and he is doing it for the country.

Nawaz Sharif further said that the biggest JIT will be constituted on February 8 and the people will give a verdict because the court has clearly said that there is no evidence against him.

“I do not have a right to forgive anyone who is an enemy of Pakistan,” he remarked, adding he didn’t conspire against former army chief Gen (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa, Lt-Gen (retd) Faiz Hameed or any other person. “I have never conspired against anyone,” Nawaz told the meeting.

Nawaz again said that how an incompetent ruler was imposed on the country and said the punishment given to him and his family was actually dispensed to the 240 million people.
