Getting reserved seats through Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) has become difficult for the PTI, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

According to sources in the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), the MWM is yet to submit a priority list to the commission for the reserved seats of women in the National Assembly (NA), and as per section 104 of the Election Act, the time for the submission of the list is up.

Under the Act, political parties can submit these lists until the last date for the submission of nomination papers.

But once the date has passed, no change can be made to these lists.

It is worth-mentioning here that the MWM had won just one NA seat in the general elections held on February 8.

Yesterday, MWM chief Allama Raja Nasir Abbas said that if the PTI would need his party’s legal cover to ensure its presence in the NA after losing its election symbol of bat, he would offer it unconditionally.

PTI, JI fail to evolve consensus

The deadlock in talks between PTI and Jamaat-e-Islami persisted as both parties were not able to settle their issues.

It has emerged that PTI is wanted to keep the alliance with JI restricted to only Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but the Jamaat also wanted it to cover the Centre.

Leaders from both the parties held talks but it failed to yield any result.
