Bailable arrest warrants of Meesha Shafi, four others issued

Judicial Magistrate Ghulam Murtaza Virk of Lahore’s local court on Friday issued the written verdict regarding arrest warrants of singer Meesha Shafi and four others in the alleged Ali Zafar harassment case, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The written verdict said, “Meesha Shafi and his co-accused filed an exemption from the court hearing. Meesha Shafi, Syed Faizan Raza, Haseem Mahim Javed and Ali Gul Pir's exemption has been rejected.”
The court said that the accused did not satisfy the court and bailable arrest warrants of all four have been issued.
The accused can submit Rs50,000 surety bonds before February 8 and appear before the court.
Now, the court will hear the arguments on the acquittal of Ali Gul Pir in the next hearing to be held on February 8.
Earlier on Jan 4, singer Meesha Shafi had appeared in the sessions court where actor-cum-singer Ali Zafar’s lawyer Ali Raza Kazim cross-examined her regarding the defamation suit he had filed against the female singer.
Ali Zafar had filed Rs1 billion defamation suit against Meesha Shafi for levelling ‘false’ allegations of sexual harassment. He claimed that the allegations tarnished his image in public and his family had been facing agony and pain.
Lawyer Ali Raza Kazim asked Meesha Shafi about blackmailing allegations levelled by her former manager,
When asked about allegation post by Talia S Mirza to which she replied, “I can’t answer every allegation against her. If I do, then how could I take out time for my children and family?”
When asked why she did not opt for initiating legal action against Talia S Mirza, who wrote a public note on Facebook, she replied, “I don’t have time for this.”
Ali Zafar’s counsel asked, “Is it true that people on social media put false allegations just to irk others,” to which Meesha Shafi replied, “Yes, it can be possible.”
