Low-lying areas as well as roads were inundated as rain, accompanied by strong winds, lashed upper Punjab city of Jhelum and its suburbs for the second consecutive day on Thursday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
At several places, water even entered homes and shops as the Ghan Nullah burst its banks, consequently flooding nearby localities as well as fields, forcing residents of these areas to mostly stay indoors.
All roads, including Civil Line Road and Shandar Chowk, were in knee deep water till last reports came in.
Not only the city but the areas surrounding it such as Dina, Sohawa and Pind Dadan Khan were also lashed by heavy rains during the last two days.
On the other hand, people of the affected areas have appealed to Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz to help them.
