Commenting on the verdict in the iddat case, Senator Faisal Vawda has asserted that former prime minister Imran Khan's release is still a distant dream, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The former federal minister remarked, "The iddat case was a disgraceful act. “Personal lives were dragged into politics.”
Today's acquittal does not pave the way for Imran Khan's release. There are many stages to go through."
Reflecting on yesterday's apex court decision regarding reserved seats, Vawda said that it has compounded the difficulties faced by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
"Yesterday, we saw a decision that seemed to transcend the constitution and law,” he said, adding that this has increased PTI's challenges.
Regardless of the extent of concessions given outside the bounds of the constitution and law, logic will not prevail; law will," he stated.
"There are still many stages and cases remaining."
"If we continue to provide concessions beyond the constitution and law, the institutions operating within these frameworks will stand against you," Vawda warned.
"When political decisions become judicial verdicts, problems will arise."
