IMF wants Pakistan to ‘do more' for tax collection

The International Monetary Fund has expressed dissatisfaction with the budget, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Tuesday.
According to sources, the IMF has reservations about the FBR tax target.
During the negotiations, the insiders added that the Fund Sources termed FBR tax collection efforts inadequate.
The IMF described the measures to increase the tax net as insufficient, they said, adding that the IMF wants Pakistan to increase tax collections.
In the budget, the government has set a Rs9,200 billion tax collection target.
