Public service deliver check: Punjab CM visits site of Akbar Chowk Flyover project

Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the site of the Akbar Chowk Flyover project and reviewed the work pace, 24NewsHD TV channel reported.
Information Minister Amir Mir, Lahore Commissioner and LDA DG Muhammad Ali gave him a briefing. On August 14, the project will be completed and it will be open.
Talking to the media, the chief minister said the construction work is going on day and night. He praised the LDA DG and his team for working hard to complete the project.
The longstanding problem of commuters around College Road, Akbar Chowk will be solved after the completion of this project, he said, adding that millions of citizens will benefit from the facility of the signal-free corridor.
A total of 250,000 vehicles will pass through this point every day, the chief minister said, adding that it will facilitate the residents of Model Town, Faisal Town, Johortown, Township, Pico Road, Canal Road, Kot Lakhpat and Quaid-e-Azam Industrial Estate.
Not a single tree will be cut during the construction and plantation has been made mandatory in every project, he added.
During his visit to the site of the Sumanabad Underpass project yesternight, he said the government is striving to complete every project on time. The ongoing projects will be included in the next budget, he said.
