The crew of a ship in the Red Sea that was taking on water after an attack by Yemen's Huthi rebels has been evacuated by the military, a British navy-run security agency said on Friday.


The MV Tutor, which was holed by a sea drone on Wednesday, "has been abandoned and is drifting" off rebel-held Hodeida, United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations said.


Philippines President Ferdinand Marcos had earlier pledged to help the Filipino seafarers on board and transfer them to Djibouti, with the help of UKMTO.


"To the Filipino seafarers onboard MV Tutor that was bombed and at this time do not know what to do -- we are doing everything that we can do," he said in a statement.
