Police arrest principal and MS Sahiwal hospital after children’s death in blaze

Following Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz's orders, the police have arrested the four doctors, principal Akhtar Mehboob, MS Dr. Akhtar Mehboob, Dr. Usman, and Dr. Umar of the Sahiwal Teaching Hospital amid the fire and death incident of 11 children, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

As per details, CM Maryam Nawaz conducted a four-hour-long inquiry at Sahiwal Teaching Hospital following the tragic deaths of 11 children and took strict action ordering the suspension and arrest of the Principal, Medical Superintendent (MS), Additional Medical Superintendent (AMS), and Admin Officer of the hospital.

CM Maryam Nawaz personally reviewed all inquiry reports and CCTV footage related to the incident.

Punjab CM reached Sahiwal hospital after which the young doctors and paramedical staff protested and raised slogans.

The police used batons and arrested more than 10 protesters.

Young Doctors Association (YDA) threatened that if the MS or doctors are arrested, hospitals across Punjab will be shut down.
