Corona crisis: IG urges foolproof preventive measures

Punjab Police Inspector General Shoaib Dastagir has ordered his team to adopt preventive measures to avert coronavirus attack.
The top cop stressed the need for raising awareness about the virus so that colossal damage could be averted, a handout said on Friday. Biometric attendance has been halted to fend off the virus attack.
Following the directives of IG Dastagir, DIG Welfare Sharaq Kamal Siddiqui wrote a letter to RPOs, DPOs and other unit heads for taking safety steps. Team leaders should play part for protecting their colleague from the virus, he stressed.
Highlighted precautionary measures at a central police office event, Additional IG Operations Inam Ghani said affected policemen should cover mouth and nose with surgical masks, avoid hugging, shake hands etc.
He added “Affected persons should be kept at a three-foot distance while a 20-second hand wash, use of sanitisers, putting gloves, ensuring room ventilation and sanitising washrooms of police stations should be adopted. Additional Inspector General Azhar Hameed Khokhar, AIG Anwar Khaitran and other senior officials also attended the event.
