The Supreme Court of Pakistan announced a historic judgment regarding the pre-arrest bail issue, ruling that the pre-arrest bail has no place in the law.

While interpreting the exemption, the apex court said the special exemption was aimed at preventing the disgrace of the innocent people and added: “If there are ostensible evidences against the accused, he cannot be extended the favour (of the pre-arrest bail).”

The apex court remarked that this tactic could have far-reaching effects on the law, adding that this could even affect the investigation’s bid to collect evidence.
