Capital City Police confirm first coronavirus fatality

The Capital City Police confirmed the first death from coronavirus late Wednesday.
Arif Ali Rana, a spokesperson for the Capital City Police, said that Harbanspura police constable Shams was admitted to Mayo Hospital four days ago.
He said the 40-year-old resident of Sikanderia Colony breathed his last two days ago while his test report confirmed yesternight that he contracted COVID-19. Shams is survived by three daughters.
CCPO Zulfiqar Hameed said Shams is the first soldier who embraced martyrdom in the line of duty during the ongoing war on coronavirus.
The CCPO paid tribute to Shams, saying that he brought honour to the police department.
He reiterated his team’s resolve to continue with ensuring security and safety of the people.
