PML-N senior leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Thursday said the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) guys were never happy with him.

The NAB chairman will now hold a meeting and get him arrested, he told media persons in Islamabad. “I am a NAB customer since 2000,” the former prime minister remarked.

Abbasi passed these remarks after appearing the combined investigation team of NAB on Thursday in connection with the LNG reference, telling the members that he had nothing to do with the transactions related to the agreements.

According to 24NewsHD TV channel, as the former prime minister said the LNG import agreement was according to rules and regulations, the NAB team handed over another questionnaire to Abbasi during the interview, asking him to submit a written reply.

Talking to media, Abbasi said the NAB gave him another questionnaire, asking him whether he paid taxes or not. Felt happy that the NAB at last also asked about tax, he added.

He said the people don’t know about the past of Shahzad Akbar – adviser to the prime minister on accountability – through whom Imran Khan had opened an institution of allegations.

“If investigations are to be conducted then check a house built in Lahore. Whose house is it and what was the cost,” he said.

Separately, an accountability court in Karachi accepted the exemption pleas of Abbasi and Arshad Mirza in the PSO MD appointment case and adjourned the hearing till June 9.

During the hearing, the counsel for Abbasi said his client could not appear before the court because of lockdown, adding that the Islamabad High Court had extended his protective bail till May 27.
