Commenting on the police action against the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) workers in Sialkot last night, Punjab Assembly (PA) Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi said on Saturday that rising popularity of PTI Chairman Imran Khan in people had made ‘nascent’ Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz worried, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
He said that PTI will hold a public gathering in the city at all costs since it was its basic right. “PTI leader Usman Dar and other organisers should be thankful to Hamza that they did not have to spend a penny on the party’s rally as it got publicity by the police action,” he added.
The PA speaker was of the view that despite claiming that they had respect for the democratic values, the Sharif family does exactly opposite of that.
