FIA freezes Ch Parvez Elahi and Monis Elahi's over 100 bank accounts

In a sweeping move, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Lahore took decisive action on Monday by freezing all bank accounts associated with Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, his son Moonis Elahi, and their family members, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to sources, more than 100 personal and company accounts linked to the Elahi family have been frozen over allegations that they kept amount received through corruption and money laundering in these bank accounts.

Additionally, the FIA has also decided to issue red warrants of Moonis Elahi and to arrest him through Interpol. The investigation agency is planning to have Elahi declared a proclaimed offender as a court had issued his arrest warrants.

Earlier today, an accountability court in Lahore declared Elahi a proclaimed offender in a corruption case.

Judge Naseem Ahmed Virk issued the order on a request by the National Accountability Bureau in a case related to receiving kickbacks in development projects.

NAB had told the court that Moonis had not been arrested or agreed to join an investigation despite repeated calls.
