Caretaker Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting, and Parliamentary Affairs Murtaza Solangi urged the President to uphold his position with dignity and refrain from undermining the commitment associated with the role, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.

In a statement, he clarified that his tweets reflect the government's position and not his personal views.

He added that decisions in a caretaker government are made by the Prime Minister.

Solangi stressed that the President is the supreme commander of the armed forces, as outlined in the constitution.

Solangi also touched upon the incident of May 9, questioning the President's actions during that time.

He emphasized the importance of the President not betraying the trust associated with the role and suggested that instead of becoming a representative of a political party, the President should embody a symbol of unity for the entire nation.

In discussing Fawad Hassan Fawad's role, he highlighted Fawad's extensive service in the civil service for nearly 35 years.

He clarified that working with someone does not necessarily align one with their political affiliations.

Solangi himself, as the former Director General of Radio Pakistan during the PPP era, exemplified that holding a position does not automatically imply alignment with a specific political party.

In questioning Fawad's role in the caretaker government, Solangi pondered why, if Fawad was representing PML-N, he wasn't appointed as a minister during the previous government.

Solangi alleged that the President, at the time, engaged in unconstitutional activities by interfering with the assembly's analysis.

Solangi disclosed that the next elections in the country are scheduled for February 8, 2024, and affirmed that the Election Commission is in continuous communication to ensure all necessary arrangements are fulfilled.
