CCPO Lahore Ghulam Mehmood Dogar has become a shuttlecock between Punjab and the Centre as the government of Punjab has for the third time flatly refused to relieve him of his duties and transfer him to the Center, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
The provincial government has conveyed this to the federal government in writing that it has no plans to transfer the official.
The Center, on the other hand, wants Dogar to get transferred at all costs.
On September 20, 2022, 24News reported that both the Punjab and the federal governments had come face to face with each other following the latter’s order to the CCPO, Lahore to report to the Establishment Division.
Former provincial interior minister Hashim Dogar directed him not to go to the Center, saying that he would continue to work as the CCPO Lahore.
Only a day later, the CCPO met with Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi at his office where the latter patted on his back and commended him in Punjabi language: “Aidhar aao ji jhappa maaro, Well Done!, Shabash, assi tuhanu jaan nahin dena (come here, hug me, Well done, we will not let you go).
