The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has granted its prestigious Golden Visa to cricketer Naseem Shah, adding another celebrity to its list of recipients. The fast-bowler announced this honour on Thursday.
Naseem Shah, who is just 20 years old, shared a picture on his Instagram account showing him receiving the golden visa from officials of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRF) in Dubai. The Golden Visa is a long-term residency permit offered by the UAE government. It provides foreign talents with the opportunity to reside, work, or study within the country while enjoying exclusive privileges.
The categories eligible for the golden visa encompass investors, entrepreneurs, scientists, exceptional students and graduates, pioneers in humanitarian efforts, and frontline heroes, among others.
Naseem Shah is not the first Pakistani cricketer to receive this honour. Several other cricketers including Shadab Khan and Iftikhar Ahmed have previously received a golden visa to Dubai.
Shadab Khan, who received his golden visa back in March this year, shared a similar sentiment on his Instagram post.
