Govt readies strategy for joint session of Parliament

The government is all set to call the joint session of the Parliament for possible tabling of an amendment in the Constitution, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
There was a strong possibility that a constitutional amendment regarding the judiciary will be introduced in the National Assembly and Senate tomorrow amid government claim of having two-thirds majority.
The Senate and National Assembly sessions may also be called on Sunday as the government was mulling direct approval of the all the amendments.
The treasury members have been directed by the government to remain in Islamabad for attending Senate and National Assembly session.
The Senate session is scheduled to start at 4:00 pm on Saturday while the National Assembly is expected to be convened at 11:00 am, said sources in the National Assembly Secretariat.
Meanwhile, the weekly offday of Saturday of Parliament’s employees has been cancelled.
