School Meal Programme first phase to start from next month: Punjab Education Minister

Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat has said that School Meal Programme will start from next month and during the first phase, programme will be started from 3 districts of South Punjab, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Talking to media, Education Minister said in first phase, milk and food will be provided to children in government schools of DG Khan, Muzaffargarh and Rajanpur. The meal programme will be extended to all districts in a phases.

He said in most districts of South Punjab, children were mentally and physically weak. Milk and food will meet their nutritional needs. Rana Sikandar Hayat said all government school students will benefit from the program. Education Minister made it clear that there will be no compromise on quality in the meal programme.

Education Minister said consultation were underway regarding the selection and collaboration of a qualified company who will be given the school meal programme contract.
