An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) extended the physical remand of Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) leader Maulana Muhammad Tahir Saifi for an additional eight days in the case related to issuing a fatwa against Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, Sheikhupura police presented the accused in the court of ATC duty judge Irfan Haider after the expiration of his previous remand on Thursday.

The investigating officer informed the court that a case had been registered against the accused at A-Division Police Station in Sheikhupura.

He added that a photogrammetric test of the accused needs to be conducted, and a microphone used in the crime needs to be recovered.

The police investigation officer requested an extension of the physical remand of the accused for the recovery, which the court approved and granted an additional eight days of physical remand.
