Akbar S. Babar, a founding member of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), spoke to the media Thursday after a PTI lawyer was given an opportunity to present arguments in the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Babar said that he would make many legal points that would expose the contradictions and deviations of PTI from the Constitution and its own manifesto.
He claimed that PTI's intra-party elections were controversial and rigged, and that many of the current members were newcomers who did not respect the original vision of the party.
He said that he and other loyalists were asking for their right to participate in fair and transparent intra-party elections, which he said was a fundamental right and a prerequisite for strengthening democracy in the country.
He lamented that PTI had failed to become a role model for other parties and had instead been taken over by a small group of lawyers and "ATMs".
