Met Office forecasts rains at weekend

The Meteorological Department has announced good news as it forecast rains during the coming weekend, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

As per forecast released on Thursday, from the night of February 17, westerly winds will enter the western regions of the country while on February 18, the series of winds and rains will cover most of the central and upper regions of the country.

During the night of February 17 to February 21, strong winds and thundershowers are expected in the upper and central regions of the country, the Meteorological Department said.

Islamabad Rawalpindi including Attock Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Mianwali, Khushab, Sargodha, Gujarat, Gujranwala and Hafizabad is expected to receive strong winds and thundershowers, Meteorological Department forecast.

Moreover, in Faisalabad, Jhang, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore and Kasur, strong winds and thundershowers are also expected, Meteorological Department said.

Heavy rain is expected in most parts of Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir and there is also a chance of snow in the mountains while hailstorm is also expected at few places, the Meteorological Department said.
