Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz has said that all senators from her party and the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) voted for Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, Pakistan People’s Party’s (PPP) candidate for Senate chairman’s office, on March 12. 

Talking to the media in Lahore on Monday evening, Maryam said that all senators from the opposition parties put the stamp on Gilani’s name, not right or left, during the election for the Senate chairman and deputy chairman. She said the PML-N had a very clear approach vis a vis its vote. She said that Senator Muzaffar Ali Shah, who performed duties as presiding officer during the Senate election, was from a party which was a government ally and the injustice he did proved his party affiliation.
