Chaudhry Nisar might take oath as Punjab MPA, rejoin PML-N

Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, a former firebrand leader and interior minister of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, is likely to take oath to the office of Member Punjab Assembly in the upcoming session of the provincial legislature, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

According to sources, Chaudhry Nisar has been advised to take the oath to his office before the introduction of electoral reforms being brought forward by the federal government.

According to these proposed reforms, if a returning candidate does not take oath to his/her office within three months of the election, his/her seat will be considered vacant. 

If these electoral reforms were approved then Ch Nisar and PML-N former finance minister Ishaq Dar may be deprived of their seats.

However, the sources said, Ch Nisar’s contacts with PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif might work wonders and after taking oath to his office, Ch Nisar might rejoin PML-N, the sources added.

Punjab Assembly session requisitioned on 18th 

The session of Punjab assembly has been requisitioned for the next week, reported 24 News HD TV Channel on Saturday.

According to sources, the Punjab Assembly session will be held on Tuesday, May 18.

Governor Punjab Ch Muhammad Sarwar has approved the summary for the requisition of provincial assembly.
