Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi said that he has invited the KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur to lunch to defuse the tensions and to offer to fight the case of the province together, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
While addressing a press conference in Multan he said that the doors of the Governor House are open for every political party but he will go to the political parties himself.
Governor KP requested the Punjab government to buy wheat from the farmers saying that if they do not support the farmers today then they will not be self-sufficient in wheat.
On the occasion of the press conference, senior vice president Khawaja Rizwan Alam, Rao Sajid and other party leaders were also present.
A few days ago, Gandapur and Kundi exchanged heated words on media when the two leaders threatened each other with “dire consequences”.
A day after the governor’s fiery speech, Chief Minister Gandapur warned Governor Kundi to stay within the limits of his constitutional position and avoid making political statements.
The CM said he could use his powers to banish Kundi from the Governor's House. “This Governor House is not your property. Don’t force me to turn it into a museum and open it to the public.”
“I will shift you to a two-room annexe,” said Gandapur. He went on to say that even fuel for the governor’s official vehicles comes from the budget of the provincial government and threatened to stop it if the governor who belongs to PPP didn’t refrain from “political statements, below-the-belt remarks and confrontation”.
