The Ministry of Law on Tuesday issued a notification to conduct a trial of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan in Adiala jail in the £190 million Al-Qadir Trust case, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.
The Law and Justice Division issued the notification after the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) wrote a letter to the Ministry of Law, seeking a notification regarding a jail trial in the Al-Qadir Trust scandal due to security concerns.
The Law and Justice Division promptly acted on the NAB's letter, underlining the urgency of addressing the Al-Qadir Trust scandal through a secure legal process.
The Ministry of Law, in response, stated that it had 'no objection' to the proposed jail trial.
The notification, bearing the approval of the Federal Government, signifies a crucial chapter in the ongoing legal saga surrounding the Al-Qadir Trust case.
