Six more Congo virus suspected cases detected in Balochistan

The outbreak of Congo fever in Balochistan province continues to cause concern as six more individuals suspected of the disease have been detected from Sambaza, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.
The medical superintendent of Civil Hospital Zhob, Dr Noor ul Haq said that the suspected patients were admitted to the hospital from Sambaza city.
However, there is growing concern as the platelet counts of these four patients had shown a significant decrease. Therefore, all affected persons are being referred to Quetta for advanced treatment, he added.
He said the suspected patients belonged to a poor nomadic family.
According to their medical history, they developed fever along with bleeding from their throat and nose, Kakar said, adding that the age of the affected persons ranged from four years to 18 years.
Dr Noor emphasized the importance of addressing this alarming issue promptly.
