Captain among six soldiers martyred in North Waziristan IED blast

Six Army soldiers including a captain were martyred when a roadside bomb exploded in North Waziristan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
According to a statement issued by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the terrorists planted an improvised explosive device (IED) in Razmak area of North Waziristan district which resulted in the martyrdom of one Army officer and five soldiers who were patrolling the area.
Those embraced shahadat included:
•Captain Umar Farooq, age 24 years
• Naib Subedar Riaz Ahmed, age 37 years
• Naib Subedar Shakeel Azad, age 44 years
• Havaldar Younas Khan, age 36 years
• Naik Muhammad Nadeem, age 37 years
• Lance Naik Asmat Ullah, age 30 years
An Army soldier was martyred and another injured after terrorists opened fires from across the Pak-Afghan border at a Pakistani post, said the ISPR on Wednesday.
Earlier this month, the Pakistani Taliban had taken responsibility for a powerful roadside bombing in North Waziristan that targeted a military vehicle, killing three soldiers and wounding four. Similar cross-border attacks in in July and September in Bajaur killed two Pakistani soldiers.
Two Pakistani soldiers were killed in a shootout with militants during a search operation in September, also in North Waziristan.
