Rain brings down mercury level in plains of Punjab

Rain and thunderstorms on Sunday evening bring the mercury level down in the Capital Islamabad and the plains of Punjab.
The first rain of winter dropped the temperature in several areas of Punjab including Lahore, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Sargodha, Kharian and Nowshera Virkan.
Various areas of Lahore including Mall Road, Jail Road, Shimla Pahari, Rehmanpura and their surroundings experienced heavy downpours after windstorms.
Reportedly, it rained the most in the areas around Qartaba Chowk.
The met department forecast rain around midnight.The temperature was recorded at 24 degrees and it was expected to drop to 21.
The speed of the winds was recorded at 13km per hour.
Te strong winds followed by rainfall made the weather pleasant.
