Federal Minister for Information Ataullah Tarar said on Monday that Pakistan was no longer isolated in the world as international monetary organisations had now acknowledged the reforms the government had introduced to resurrect the country’s economy, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, he said that the inflation rate had now dropped to 6.9 per cent, while investment worth $64 billion had been made under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
“A considerable increase has been witnessed in exports in the IT sector,” the minister said, adding, “Bloomberg has declared that Pakistan is the world’s emerging economy.”
Tarar said the government was proud that it was hosting the SCO summit. “It is after 27 years that such an event is being held in Pakistan.”
He informed that a modern media center had been set up for the coverage of the conference.
“China’s Prime Minister Li Qiang has said he has immense love for Pakistan,” the minister said.
Regarding the PTI, he said everything could be expected from the party, which could go to the extent of damaging government and military installations on May 9.
