The Capital Development Authority (CDA) Islamabad has been accused of doling out money to its officials despite the fact the country is facing a severe financial crunch, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to the documents available with the channel, it is revealed that the authority has distributed Rs13.82 million among its 180 officials. The amount is a grant of ex-gratia for the auction of CDA’s commercial and residential plots.

The auction committee members have been given an amount equal to four months’ basic- pay and the rest of the officers and staff from BS-12 to BS-18 have been given one month’s basic pay.

The CDA authority has been allegedly involved in auctioning its precious lands without any interruption to meet its ongoing lavish expenditures.

The insiders claimed that despite following Prime Minister's austerity move, the CDA members and officials are in a mood to reduce their privileges and perks.

For example, 150% Executive Allowance is also being given to officers in CDA grade seventeen and above. Even, officers posted on deputation in the CDA are taking irrational benefits in the shape of allowances, salaries, and perks.

After the auction of the plots, CDA distributed Rs Rs 13.82 to officers including three members.

Four basic salaries were given to Member Finance, Member State, Member Planning, DG Law, and Director Public Relations.

Those drawing four basic salaries include Director Finance, Director State, Director Urban, Regional Planning, Deputy Director Finance Wing, and Cost Accountant. Eleven officers including Member State, Member Planning, Member Finance, and DG Law were given four basic salaries each.

Eleven officers were awarded a total salary of over Rs Rs5.6 million.

Staff officers, directors, drivers, deputy messengers, security guards, and other staff were given a basic salary each.
