Pakistan launches first electric taxi in Islamabad

Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on Climate Change of Pakistan Malik Amin Aslam launched country’s first e-Taxi for northern areas as a part of Prime Minister Imran Khan's vision for Clean Green Pakistan, reported 24NewsHD Tv Cahnnel.

The launching ceremony was organized at a local hotel in Islamabad.
Amin Aslam said that there would be Rs12,000 budget savings for the e-taxi driver.
He announced that there would be a saving of Rs2b in terms of oil import bill.
An engineer associated with the private company that manufactured the e-taxi said that the e-taxi could go up to 250km easily with full battery charging.
It was also announced to set up two charging units in Islamabad and Murree after that the e-taxi service would be launched.
Earlier in the day, SAPM Amin Aslam met with the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nang Rong.
China Ambassador said,” on bilateral cooperation on ecological environmental protection. Highly appreciate Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Clean&Green Pakistan Campaign and 10 Billion Tree Tsunami Programme.”
