New Poet of the East museum to be set up in Lahore: CM Naqvi

Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has ordered the establishment of a museum of the historical objects related to Poet of the East Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal near Badshahi Mosque, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The CM on Saturday directed the relevant officials to take immediate steps for the establishment of museum during a briefing that was given to him by Senior Member Board of Revenue Nabeel Javed on museum as well as upgradation of the tomb of Allama Iqbal.
Objects that were related to Allama Iqbal or were used by him throughout his life will be displayed at the museum.
On the occasion, Naqvi also directed the officials to fix good quality tiles in the outside area of the tomb and ordered them to ensure supply of supreme quality red sand stone and super white marble for the purpose.
It was decided that the availability of all books of Allama Iqbal would be ensured in the bookshop which is located on the right side of the tomb. Souvenir and craft shops would also be set up, the CM was briefed. The water-proofing of the roof of the tomb will also be done.
The briefing was attended by Nayyar Ali Dada, Muneeb Iqbal, Iqbal Salahuddin, senior member Board of Revenue, DG Walled City Authority, Secretary Auqaf Department, head of Iqbal Academy and other senior officials.
