As soon as the death of PTI bigwig Naeem-ul-Haq made headlines, leaders from different parties expressed condolences over the sad demise.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) announced three-day mourning for Naeem. All activities of the ruling party will remain suspended over the next three days.

President Dr Arif Alvi expressed heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family, saying: “A great Pakistan and founded of the PTI has left the world today. It was a pleasure to have known him as a close friend for the last 40 years.”

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said Naeem-ul-Haq "fought cancer with true grit and determination. His commitment to the party and services to PTI were invaluable. He was a great friend and shall be missed."

Federal Science and Technology Minister Fawad Chaudhry called him ‘a friend, elder and a colleague’. “Haq fought like a lion against cancer,” the minister tweeted.

Human Rights Minister Shireen Mazari lost ‘a unique friend’. “In Naeem's passing I have lost a unique friend. His humour, his political support for me in PTI, his passion for music, his temper - & his fight against cancer till the end - all was so Naeem! Can't imagine PTI without Naeem frankly! So many wonderful memories come flooding,” Mazari tweeted.

Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar paid tribute to the veteran for his part in making a good PTI team.  PTI official Twitter account dubbed the deceased ‘a dedicated Pakistani, a loyal friend and a kind human being’. “The entire party family is aggrieved upon his demise.”

Similarly, leaders of other parties shared sympathies with the bereaved family. PML-Q leaders Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, Punjab Assembly Speaker Parvez Elahi, his son Moonis Elahi and others expressed heartfelt grief and sorrow over the sad demise.

They paid tribute to Naeem-ul-Haq, saying: “He was a capable and patriot political leader.” They prayed the Almighty may rest the departed soul in eternal piece and grant courage to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss with fortitude.

PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif in his message said: "Very sad to hear about the passing away of Naeemul Haq. My profound condolences to the bereaved family and the PTI."
