Sindh bans display of weapons ahead of elections

The Sindh Home Department has imposed Section 144 across the province, effectively banning any display of weapons for 45 days as the general elections draw closer, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to a notification issued in this regard on Tuesday, the ban on display of arms enforced on the recommendation of Sindh inspector general of police.
Personnel of law-enforcement agencies and police are exempted from this ban.
Guards belonging to registered private security companies can carry weapons only at their job sites.
As per the notification, station house officers have been issued instructions in this regard, directed them to lodge FIRs against anyone found involved in violating ban on display of arms.
