Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has inaugurated the laptop scheme for students in Faisalabad, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
Addressing the Honhar Scholarship ceremony at Government College University Faisalabad, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said that students are being given scholarships on 100 percent merit.
Maryam Nawaz said this is the biggest scholarship program in the history of Pakistan.
Maryam Nawaz made the scholarship recipient student sit on her seat.
She said all resources will be used to fulfill the dreams of the students.
Maryam Nawaz said as many as 30,000 scholarships will be given to first-year students this year while 50000 scholarships will be provided next year.
Maryam Nawaz said government will also provide scholarships to second and third year students.
Government will provide laptops to students of government and private universities who score 65 percent marks.
