Sindh’s new academic calendar to start from June 1st

Clarifying the misconception, Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani on Monday said students would have to give examinations and new academic year will start from June 1st in Sindh.

Addressing a press conference today he warned schools in the province on collecting students’ fees in advance. He vowed to take action against all violators and to implement the government decision in letter and spirit.

He said the government was taking all the necessary steps to contain the coronavirus outbreak and students will not be promoted without taking exams.

He said these decisions have been taken after the detailed discussions with all stakeholders.

Sharing the decisions about the examinations scheduled in Sindh, Ghani said:

·        Intermediate exams 11 and 12 classes will start on 6th July. New Year of intermediate will begin from August 2020.

·        Matriculation exams of class 9th and 10th will be held between 15th of July to 30th July. Results on August 15.

·        1st to grade 8th exams will start from June 1 to June 15.
