A young girl was seriously wounded when a Chhipa ambulance in the Orangi Town area of Karachi hit her and dragged her along for about 30 feet when she was trying to cross the road, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
A CCTV footage of the incident has also been released. Pakistan Bazaar Police Station team Wednesday raided and recovered the ambulance involved in the accident but the driver managed to run away from the scene.
In the footage, it can be seen that the ambulance hit the girl and took her with them for about 30 feet and then she was run over by an overspeeding mini-bus.
The victim has been critically injured as both her legs were broken and she was rushed to a hospital by the same ambulance.
The family of the victim urged authorities to provide best medical treatment and justice to the girl.
Chippa has, however, been standing behind his driver. A Chippa spokesperson said that it was Chippa’s volunteer who helped the victim to get the medical treatment in the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital in Karachi.
