British cycling sensation Josh Tarling stunned the field at the Chrono des Nations time trial on Sunday as he beat world champion Remco Evenepoel on the west coast of France.
The 19-year-old Ineos rider took the European title in September and wearing the European colours covered the 45.43km course in 52min 02sec, 13sec ahead of Belgian ace Evenepoel and 1min 10sec ahead of third-placed Swiss rider Stefan Bissegger.
Tarling went straight from junior to professional ranks this season and was tested with Ineos at one-day classics before winning the European title, and coming third in the world championships at Glasgow.
